Greatest Lesson Learned
Think-Pair-Share
Question: Describe in detail the language of instruction in your building. What schema do teachers use to plan for instruction? Is UbD understood in terms of the “key 3” 1/ identify what we want students to know and be able to do, 2/determine acceptable evidence of student learning 3/plan instruction based on #1 and #2?
After a few minutes of “think” time, we will pair, then share.

Data Dive
Teacher Longitudinal file shows teacher performance over time in the same grade. You will notice more teachers in each grade due to some teachers moving grades between the 2 years.
Teacher Impact file shows the current (2014) scores that are a result of the teacher, and what the class looked like in terms of scores the previous year. For example, if the class had 90% of students scoring Met or Above the previous year (2013) and only 50% of students scoring Met or Above this past year (2014), thus the teacher (given all other factors remained equal) had a negative impact.
Longitudinal is 2 separate points in time that some teachers may/may not have multiple year data. Impact is how the most recent class the teacher instructed performed for 2014 and how those same students performed in 2013.

Summer Reading Camps Next Steps – Participating student names need to be provided to their 2014-15 teacher so teachers know if they have a student that participated in the Summer Reading Camps. Teachers need to start a Running Record early and complete a Fountas & Pinnell text reading level assessment before the end of August to document Fountas & Pinnell level growth.
In addition to F&P data, MAP data will also be used to evaluate the impact of the Summer Reading Camp on student achievement. RTI should be immediately implemented for all students not reading on grade level.
